Job summary

Consumers Energy, a leading energy provider in Michigan, seeks a Director of Learning and Development to drive strategic learning initiatives. Hybrid role with onsite days at the One Energy Plaza in Jackson, MI, relocation considered for eligible candidates.

You will lead strategy, design, and evaluation of learning programs that boost employee performance and engagement. The role emphasizes Lean methodologies, KPI-based measurement, collaboration with senior leaders, and building strong partner

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years in training/learning development.
• Experience leading teams in a utilities/operational environment is preferred.
• Proven ability to translate business strategy into learning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategic planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development initiatives.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to source expertise.
• Manage the L&D budget and demonstrate ROI on learning initiatives.
• Use KPIs and analytics to measure impact and continuously improve programs.
• Guide Lean methodologies and PDCA within teams and processes.
• Identify future learning needs and design long-term plans aligned with business goals.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to integrate learning into business functions.
• Set expectations and lead teams to meet department and company objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
