Job summary

BLUM CONSTRUCTION is seeking a Director of Training and Development to partner with leaders, identify performance needs, and deliver practical learning solutions that elevate our teams’ performance. The role spans professional skills, technical and systems training, onboarding, and supporting the High Performing Teams (HPT) program.

You will work with executives, superintendents, and project teams to determine the right approach for each need, measure impact, and continuously improve programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, human resources, business, construction management, or a related field preferred, plus five or more years in training, learning and development, or organizational development with demonstrated adult-learning facilitation.
• Construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred; credibility with superintendents and project managers is essential.
• Proven ability to assess performance needs and translate them into effective learning solutions; skilled facilitator of discussion-based learning, in person and virtually.
• Strong consultative and relationship-building skills; able to manage multiple priorities and programs at once. Experience creating multimedia or video-based learning content is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365. Working knowledge of Procore and Outbuild strongly preferred, or the ability to learn them quickly; Egnyte or ADP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Needs Assessment and Learning Strategy: Build relationships with Blum leaders and teams to identify priorities and develop a flexible learning roadmap.
• Learning Design and Delivery: Lead design, development, and delivery of practical learning experiences, both in person and virtually.
• Professional Skills Development: Identify and prioritize key professional skills and create opportunities to learn from leaders.
• Technical and Systems Training: Coordinate training on technology adoption, system changes, and business processes.
• Onboarding: Strengthen onboarding across roles and regions to accelerate productivity.
• High Performing Teams (HPT): Support HPT facilitation and identify development priorities across regions.
• Measuring Impact and Continuous Improvement: Define success metrics, evaluate effectiveness, and share progress with leadership.
