Job summary

Capital Choice Pathology Lab, part of Adventist HealthCare, is seeking a Director of Laboratory Services to lead histology, cytology, IHC, and molecular testing. You will drive quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in a high-volume lab environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), ASCP certification, and 5–10 years of management experience in a pathology lab. Expect a 40-hour work week with day shifts and travel within a 50-mile radius.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
• ASCP certification required
• 5-10 years of leadership experience in a pathology laboratory

Responsibilities

• Oversee histology, IHC, and molecular services per CAP/state/federal rules
• Update department policies and documentation
• Improve workflows to increase throughput while maintaining quality
• Ensure 24/7 histology/cytology/IF needs are met
• Develop new tests and methodologies as needed
• Analyze quality metrics and KPIs via CQI
• Manage budget and resources to meet financial targets
• Train and develop staff; conduct onboarding and records
• Prepare contracts, RFPs, and monthly reports
• Demonstrate proficiency with LIS, EMR, and MS tools
• Communicate effectively and lead cross‑functional teams
• Travel within 50-mile radius as needed
