Job summary

AHMC Healthcare Inc. seeks a Director of Lab/Pathology Services to lead the laboratory in Riverside, CA.

This role reports to the Laboratory Medical Director and drives implementation of the center’s mission, policies, and procedures in compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulators. The Director provides strong leadership, oversees supervision, manages department resources, and continuously improves the quality of care.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ management experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
• Conducts supervision in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.
• Manages the logistical resources of the department.
• Continuously assesses and improves the quality of care/service rendered by the department.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director, the Director of Lab/Pathology Services assumes responsibility for implementation of the medical center’s mission, goals and objectives. The Director assumes responsibility for implementing and maintaining all department policies and procedures as mandated by The Joint Commission and other regulating agencies.

• Provides leadership in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates effective managerial skill by conducting all aspects of supervision in an equally firm, fair, and consistent manner.
• Effectively manages the logistical resources of the department.
• Demonstrates the ability to continuously assess and improve upon the quality of care/service rendered by the department.
• Participates in the recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff.

Possession of a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.

Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science.

Master’s degree preferred.

Must have a minimum of five years’ management experience in a clinical laboratory.

Demonstrated leadership and management skills required.
