Job summary

Ōura is hiring a Director, Technology Business Operations to build and lead IT's strategic planning, prioritization, and financial governance from the ground up. You’ll start solo, then expand a small team while aligning IT spend with business goals across ~300 apps.

You will partner with FP&A, Procurement, and EA to implement TBM-like governance, annual planning, and a clear priority system, running the executive cadence and ensuring scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of IT experience with 4+ years leading IT strategy for a fast-growing company.
• Strong operational discipline with TBM or a comparable technology operating model.
• Experience partnering with FP&A, Procurement/Legal, Enterprise Architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Exceptional executive-level communication skills.
• Experience building strategic planning, financial, and governance processes from scratch in cross-functional environments.
• Comfortable as the hands-on, sole builder and manager of a small team before scaling to full-time staff.
• Clear scope discipline to stay as strategic planning layer, not owning architecture or delivery.
• Daily use of AI tools for research, drafting, analysis, and problem-solving with prudent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic layer for IT — value-based planning, prioritization, and governance while teams own delivery and platforms.
• Manage a contractor bridge and grow a small team of 2–3 FTEs (Analyst, Portfolio Manager, Strategist).
• Build IT's strategic planning system: annual planning cycle, multi-year technology plan, and investment narratives.
• Stand up a shared prioritization and governance model to explain IT choices.
• Own financial operations with FP&A: cost-center model, spend, renewal exposure, and consolidated IT spend view.
• Own procurement, contract, and renewal management; create renewal calendar and packets.
• Oversee contractor/SOW administration and workforce operations across multiple countries.
• Run IT's executive cadence — all-hands, monthly updates, roadmap reviews, and leadership meetings.
