Job summary

UNKNOWN is seeking a Food and Nutrition Director to oversee the Food Service Department in long-term care facilities, ensuring high-quality nutrition services and compliance with standards. You will supervise staff, coordinate with departments, develop policies, and maintain safety and sanitation while managing cost and resources effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; CDM preferred or eligible.
• Current food safety certification per state recommendations.
• Minimum five years in a supervisory role in hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility.
• Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, and personnel management.
• Ability to pass a Colorado CAPS background check and comply with COVID vaccination policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate food services and activities with other related departments.
• Assist in developing and maintaining written food services policies and procedures.
• Interpret the department's policies and procedures to residents, employees, visitors, government agencies, etc.
• Perform administrative duties to assure control of equipment and supplies.
• Develop and maintain a file of tested standard recipes.
• Inspect kitchen, dish room, food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
• Interview residents or family members to obtain diet history.
• Maintain records of the resident's food likes and dislikes.
• Perform all other duties as requested.
