Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. seeks a Food Service Director to lead the dining program at a long-term care facility. You will oversee food service operations, ensure quality and safety, and manage staff across the shift to deliver exceptional resident experiences.

With a focus on regulatory compliance, training, and efficient resource use, this role partners with facility leadership to keep meals nutritious, timely, and engaging while maintaining strict sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
• CDM certification preferred (or as required by state and county law).
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within the first 14 days of employment.
• Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the first 60 days of employment.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Residency within the service area required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the food service program at a single site, ensuring high quality and safety standards.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment.
• Conduct staff training and quality control; perform dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher duties as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers and administrators to staff effectively.
• Ensure safe handling of cleaning products and report equipment needs or malfunctions promptly.
• Adhere to infection control and sanitation practices.
