Job summary

Hydrec is seeking a Director of Commissioning and Service/Aftermarket to own customer deployments from pilots through long-term operations. You will lead a field engineering and account management team delivering hands-on troubleshooting and decisive execution across the customer lifecycle.

Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the CEO, you will set priorities, build scalable processes, and partner with Sales, Engineering, and Product to turn field learnings into better products

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading customer-facing technical organizations in field execution, commissioning, operations, or technical service.
• Proven track record building multidisciplinary engineering or field service teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or related)
• Experience commissioning or supporting industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, including retrofit projects in live operating facilities
• Comfortable solving complex problems with incomplete information and shifting priorities
• Exceptional communicator, able to build trust with customers and influence cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel ~30-50% to support field operations

Responsibilities

• Own the successful execution of pilots, commissioning, and commercial operations across multiple customer sites
• Guide technical decision-making during commissioning, startup, and field support
• Build trusted, long-term relationships that position us as customers' strategic partner
• Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing field organization — recruiting, forecasting, and building the systems that let the team scale
• Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Product to close the loop between field lessons and better products
• Establish the operating discipline - dashboards, KPIs, standardized processes that keeps execution consistent as the business grows fast
