Job summary

Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) is seeking an experienced Evaluation and Learning Director to lead measurement of impact, improve program effectiveness, and foster a culture of learning. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will develop evaluation frameworks, analyze data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

You will oversee budget, staff, data collection, and analysis across the Learning & Evaluation department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, research, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in program evaluation, research, or data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (SPSS, R, Stata).
• Experience with database design, workflow automation, and statistical tools.
• Strong written and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Commitment to equity and inclusion and experience working with diverse communities.
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends; lifting up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation strategy to assess program effectiveness and organizational impact.
• Establish KPIs and data collection methodologies to measure success at organizational, programmatic, and individual levels.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to evaluate outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure evaluation methods are culturally responsive and equity-focused.
• Translate evaluation findings into reports and data-driven recommendations to guide decisions.
• Lead the Learning & Evaluation department, including budget management and staffing.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visual tools for funders, board members, and partners.
• Collaborate with leadership and program teams to align evaluation with organizational goals.
