Job summary

DaySmart Software is seeking a player/coach engineering leader to build an engineering culture capable of scaling with growth. You will combine hands-on coding with people leadership, shaping architecture and guiding a high-performing team.

You will partner with Product, own the platform delivery, and drive reliability, performance, and security across systems while nurturing AI-enabled features.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with PHP/Laravel in legacy plus modern services.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams in growth-stage companies.
• Strong SQL skills with database optimization and performance tuning.
• Hands-on with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in API design, microservices, and scalable architectures.
• Familiar with asynchronous processing and job queues.
• Proven ability to hire and develop engineers in a B2B SaaS context.
• Excellent communication to influence technical and business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the engineering vision and strategy aligned with product roadmaps.
• Drive reliability, performance, and security improvements across the stack.
• Partner with Product to build a one-year roadmap.
• Use customer feedback to prioritize opportunities improving experience.
• Streamline cross-functional collaboration to speed customer signal to the team.
• Own Dash platform delivery from architecture to release while coding when needed.
• Scale a high-performing engineering team through hiring and leadership development.
• Mentor engineers with best practices and clear priorities.
• Set delivery pace and ensure timelines are met.
• Shape architecture and standards for reliability and security as volume grows.
• Foster a culture of experimentation with measurable impact.
• Improve CI/CD and DevOps to accelerate releases.
• Infuse AI functionality and lead AI-first development across the team.
