Job summary

DaySmart is seeking an experienced engineering leader to shape the Dash platform. This player/coach role blends hands-on coding with people leadership, directing architecture choices and guiding a growing team while delivering features on the roadmap.

You will work across product, customer experience, and operations, driving reliability, performance, and security at scale. The position offers remote flexibility in the US and opportunities to mentor a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with PHP/Laravel experience.
• 5+ years managing engineering teams in growth-stage companies.
• Strong SQL, DB optimization, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing APIs and scalable microservices.
• Experience in B2B SaaS and customer-facing systems.
• Familiar with agile development and team facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the engineering vision and strategy aligned to product roadmaps.
• Improve reliability, performance, and security across the tech stack.
• Partner with Product to build the one-year roadmap.
• Drive AI-first development and infuse AI functionality.
• Mentor engineers and scale a high-performing team.
• Own delivery of the Dash platform from architecture to release.
