Job summary

Talent.com is hiring a Founding Head of Engineering to own the codebase, architecture, and product roadmap for an AI-native platform. You will lead a small, high-signal engineering team, shipping features directly to users and setting the technical direction in a fast-paced environment.

You'll hire, mentor, and shape the engineering culture from day one, partnering with product and leadership to align strategy with customer feedback while balancing latency, cost, and quality.

• Led engineering teams at real scale and chose to work hands-on again.
• Founding or first-few engineer at a venture-backed AI startup.
• Shipped agentic LLM systems to paying enterprise customers.
• Hired and mentored engineers with a focus on early-stage technical bar.
• Clear track record of shaping engineering culture and practices.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the product's codebase, architecture, and roadmap.
• Lead engineering for an AI-native product end-to-end.
• Build and integrate AI capabilities into production systems.
• Recruit, interview, and hire the engineering team as we scale.
• Set and protect engineering culture, review cadence, and velocity.
