Job summary

Airgas seeks a Director of Energy to lead AMG energy strategy and procurement from Houston or Cleveland. You will manage risk, drive decarbonization, and oversee contracts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize energy use and costs.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in energy management, deep knowledge of North American electricity markets, and strong leadership with stakeholder influence. Hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of related energy management or industrial gas experience.
• Strong understanding of electricity markets in North America (regulated and deregulated).
• Proven ability to influence executive management and external parties.

Responsibilities

• Develop AMG energy strategy to minimize cost while balancing risk.
• Manage energy procurement in regulated and deregulated markets.
• Lead load control and demand response opportunities.
• Oversee energy cost models, budgeting, and reporting to stakeholders.
• Negotiate energy purchase contracts and monitor market/regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, Supply Chain, and Plant Operations.
