Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Director, Strategic Sourcing - Gas and Power to lead the gas/fuel cell equipment purchasing strategy for Renewables & Power projects. You will drive contracting efforts with suppliers and coordinate with project teams to ensure timely, safe equipment deliveries at optimal cost and quality.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in gas and power, strong negotiation and financial analysis skills, and a track record of building strategic supplier partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a technical or business field.
• Minimum 10 years of gas and power-related experience.
• 5+ years experience managing a team.
• Strong contract negotiation experience.
• Financial knowledge for cash-flow evaluation (IRR, NPV).
• Experience building consensus in a multi-cultural environment.
• Proven supplier network and partnerships.
• Experience sourcing power plant/utility equipment and services.

Responsibilities

• Lead gas-generation contracting across Renewables & Power businesses.
• Develop strategic supplier relationships and pricing terms.
• Establish robust purchasing strategies and vendor networks.
• Monitor and improve sourcing processes for new-generation projects and major maintenance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, and Development teams.
