Base pay range

$120,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Summary /Objective

We are seeking an experienced, highly technical, and results-driven Director of eCommerce to lead our digital commerce operations across both the United States and European markets. This is a pivotal role for a digitally native, consumer-focused brand looking to scale aggressively through DTC channels.

You will own and optimize all aspects of our eCommerce ecosystem — including overseeing a platform migration from Magento to Shopify, managing the channel P&L, and driving customer acquisition and retention strategies. This leader must blend analytical acumen with cross-functional leadership, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of eCommerce technologies and trends.

Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Own and manage the eCommerce business across the US and EU markets, delivering revenue and margin goals.
  • Drive and execute the post-migration success plan for transitioning from Magento to Shopify, including platform optimization, technical troubleshooting, and integrations with existing tools (CRM, analytics, fulfillment, etc.).
  • Develop short- and long-term strategic plans that align with broader company goals

P&L Ownership & KPI Management

  • Own the full P&L for the eCommerce channel; forecast, monitor, and report on key financial metrics.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks for KPIs such as revenue, AOV, conversion rate, traffic sources, retention rate, CAC, ROAS, and LTV.
  • Manage promotional calendars and ensure alignment with inventory levels, product launches, and sales targets.
  • Partner with the media team and/or agencies to allocate and optimize budget across Google, Meta, Bing, and programmatic platforms.
  • Oversee email, SMS, and loyalty/retention strategies using platforms like Klaviyo or similar, ensuring segmentation, automation, and personalization are effectively deployed.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative and marketing teams to brief and align messaging across channels.

SEO & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

  • Own the SEO roadmap for the site, ensuring all technical, on-page, and content-based opportunities are maximized.
  • Drive experimentation and testing roadmap for CRO, including A/B testing, funnel optimizations, UX improvements, and cart/checkout enhancements.
  • Collaborate with marketing, planning, and inventory teams to ensure the site is merchandised based on product forecast, sales velocity, and inventory flow.
  • Coordinate seasonal and promotional updates, new product launches, and site refreshes.
  • Implement personalization and recommendation engines to improve conversion and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor a growing eCommerce team across both technical and commercial functions.
  • Manage external developers, agencies, and technology partners to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
  • Ensure site uptime, speed, compliance, and security best practices are maintained across regions.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in eCommerce roles, including significant time in leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated success managing US and EU DTC operations for a consumer goods brand.
  • Deep technical understanding of eCommerce ecosystems; hands-on experience with both Magento and Shopify Plus.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4), Klaviyo (or similar), Shopify Admin, paid media platforms, and SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, financial, and forecasting skills — P&L management experience is required.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, product, and logistics teams.
  • A strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and execute with urgency.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with international localization, tax/VAT considerations, and cross-border shipping.
  • Background in working with performance-focused DTC brands in apparel, footwear, or sporting goods.
  • Familiarity with headless architecture, custom APIs, or composable commerce tools.
