Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Director of Distribution to oversee day-to-day operations across the distribution center network, including retail divisions and direct fulfillment, while monitoring budgets and expenses. In addition, the role will participate in planning staff for growth and lead major projects within the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 7+ years in retail distribution operations with 3–5 years at director level or Sr. DC management position preferred.
• Excellent computer skills; proficient in MS Office and Manhattan Management System.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff; prioritize and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Directs the Operations Manager to coordinate, motivate and direct all staff within the operation.
• Assists with establishing and implementing long-term strategies and objectives.
• Coordinates with corporate departments to support daily and weekly objectives.
• Partners with Human Resources to address staff issues.
• Interviews, hires and trains key staff; conducts reviews.
• Organizes and conducts regular facility meetings.
• Ensures communication with Merchandising, Marketing, and Contract Center for order processing.
• Maintains department standards and monthly production reviews.
• Evaluates merchandise vendors to ensure Ready to Process condition.
