Kimmel Associates seeks a Director of Development – Mission Critical to lead growth in the data center and mission critical construction markets across the United States. You will identify opportunities, build strategic client relationships, and align preconstruction with operations to win and transition new work.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of construction industry experience.
• Experience in mission critical, data center, concrete construction, or similarly complex markets.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven success identifying new opportunities and securing strategic relationships.
• Experience with strategic planning, project development, preconstruction, and cross-functional team leadership.
• Strong understanding of risk management and project delivery.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel for clients, projects, and business development activities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and outreach.
• Develop relationships with data center end users, customers, design teams, and other stakeholders.
• Manage and advance opportunities through sales and preconstruction processes.
• Support strategic sales efforts, CRM activity, proposals, and presentations.
• Lead design-build and design-assist pursuits, including scope and clarifications.
• Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction to develop competitive, low-risk solutions.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth turnover from pursuit to execution.
• Develop strategies to address customer challenges and differentiate in the market.
• Stay current on data center construction trends and customer requirements.
• Conduct client meetings, understand needs, and present tailored solutions.
• Build partnerships and connect regional teams with clients and partners.
• Contribute to long-term revenue growth and expansion in the mission critical sector.
