Job summary

Apryse is seeking a Director of Data Platform & Operations to architect and lead our data infrastructure, pipelines, and governance. You will coordinate Data Engineering, Data Governance, and BI/Analytics, ensuring trusted data for AI-enabled search and insights.

This hands-on leadership role combines architecture, engineering, and people management to partner with business stakeholders and advance our data-driven strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines.
• Strong SQL/DDL skills and working proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with dimensional modeling and schema design; hands-on ownership of a data warehouse or lakehouse.
• Track record of building BI reporting and dashboards with governed, centralized access.
• Experience integrating and normalizing data from core business systems.
• Comfort operating as both an individual contributor and a leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Data Engineering, Data Governance, and BI/Analytics teams.
• Set priorities, workflows, and quality standards across the three functions.
• Mentor and develop team members, balancing hands-on guidance with career growth.
• Own hiring, performance management, and resourcing decisions for the team.
• Design and own the overall data platform: warehouse/lakehouse, schema design, data modeling.
• Build, orchestrate, and maintain reliable data pipelines from source systems to analytics-ready models.
• Establish and enforce standards for data quality and pipeline reliability.
• Manage cloud data infrastructure and cost optimization.
• Own the BI strategy from executive dashboards to self-serve reporting.
• Partner with department leaders to turn raw data into decision-ready insights and KPIs.
• Translate business requirements into scoped technical initiatives.
• Shape data strategy as AI becomes embedded in workflows.
• Own the data layer supporting our Glean implementation and AI tools.
