Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Director, Data & AI Architect for Operations and Finance to define the architecture strategy and lead senior architects. You will translate complex business needs into scalable data and AI solutions and partner with enterprise teams.

You will guide governance, tooling, and vendor strategy, shaping multi-year roadmaps and ensuring regulatory compliance while delivering trusted, high-value capabilities across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of experience in architecture roles.
• Experience leading architecture teams and mentoring architects.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native, lakehouse, event-driven, microservices, API-first, and GenAI architectures.
• Experience establishing architecture governance, review boards, standards, and operating models.
• Strong ability to influence executives by linking technology to business value and risk.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the Operations & Finance Data & AI architecture vision and multi-year roadmap.
• Define target operating model, governance, and accountability across business and tech teams.
• Lead a bench of senior architects and build a scalable architecture community of practice.
• Guide tooling and partner strategy, oversee vendor evaluations and proof-of-concept work.
• Define patterns for data products, semantic services, knowledge graphs, and retrieval services.
• Contribute to financial stewardship, investment plans, and value realization.
• Set architecture standards for data platform, MLOps, and responsible AI patterns.
