Job summary

Crusoe Energy Systems is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial analytics and cost intelligence for the data center build portfolio. You will own cost performance, benchmarks, and forecasting across the lifecycle, translating complex construction data into actionable insights for leadership.

You will build a standardized cost framework, collaborate with construction, procurement, and development teams, and shape capital planning to maximize efficiency and value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience spanning construction finance, project controls, capital projects accounting, or project finance, ideally within data centers, energy, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience managing construction budgets, cost reporting, and draw processes on large capital projects (typically $100M+ in scale).
• Familiarity with construction loan agreements, draw/funding mechanics, and lender/independent engineer requirements.
• Working knowledge of GC/EPC contract structures, change order management, and construction risk allocation (bonding, retainage, liquidated damages).
• Experience managing operating budgets and cost performance for live facilities, ideally data centers or other mission-critical operating assets.

Responsibilities

• Develop a consistent cost taxonomy and analytical framework across data center builds, including cost per unit metrics and site/geography breakdowns.
• Own the financial framework for Estimate at Completion (EAC), monitoring committed, incurred, forecasted, and at-risk spend.
• Analyze variance against original budgets and benchmarks to identify root causes.
• Build the cost intelligence capability to guide capital deployment and tradeoffs between cost, speed, resiliency, and capacity.
• Partner with estimating, construction, engineering, procurement, and development teams to improve early-stage project estimates.
• Create portfolio-level visibility across active projects with standardized cost reporting for leadership.
• Translate EACs and schedules into capital and cash-spend forecasts aligned with the company plan.
• Provide decision support for design changes, procurement, and scheduling that affect project economics.
• Define data sources, ownership, and reporting architecture for project cost analytics.
