Job summary

Acts Retirement-Life Communities is seeking a Director of Construction to lead site development and regional construction teams. You will shape construction strategy, drive execution, and meet business goals while coordinating with operations, development, design, and finance.

The role demands directing projects from design through completion, managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and safety compliance. Travel between communities is expected to provide onsite support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent amount of experience.
• Five years of progressive experience in commercial construction supervision/project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, documents, and specifications.
• Knowledge of building codes and OSHA requirements and regulations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Builds, leads, develops, and monitors teams at designated sites.
• Promotes and inspects for quality assurance.
• Travels between locations to provide onsite support and assist communities in emergencies.
• Manages the design development of all assigned construction projects.
• Generates bid packages, bids construction projects, and negotiates contracts with outside vendors.
• Plans, schedules, organizes, directs, and controls construction projects from start to finish per schedule, specs, and budget.
• Responsible for budget planning and long-range strategic planning.
• Supervises general construction contractors and sub-contractors.
• Supervises architects, engineers, and designers.
• Ensures all job site activities comply with safety policies and OSHA/EPA requirements.
