Job summary

Acts Retirement-Life Communities is seeking a Director of Construction to lead site development and regional construction teams in the Boca Raton area. The role partners with leadership to define strategy, drive execution, and deliver results aligned with business goals.

You will oversee design development, bid processes, and contract negotiations while ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules. Travel between locations is required to support communities and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent amount of experience.
• Five years of progressive experience in commercial construction supervision/project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, documents, and specifications.
• Knowledge of building codes and OSHA requirements and regulations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Builds, leads, develops, and monitors teams at designated sites.
• Promotes and inspects for quality assurance.
• Travels between locations to provide onsite support and assist communities in emergencies.
• Manages the design development of all assigned construction projects.
• Generates bid packages, bids construction projects, and negotiates contracts with outside vendors.
• Plans, schedules, organizes, directs, and controls construction projects from start to finish within schedule, specifications, and budget.
• Responsible for budget planning and long-range strategic planning.
• Supervises general construction contractors and sub-contractors.
• Supervises architects, engineers, and designers.
• Ensures all job site activities comply with safety policies and OSHA/EPA requirements.
