Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. is seeking a Director of Construction to provide strategic leadership over all market vertical construction activities, from preconstruction to handover.

You will manage a team, coordinate with subcontractors, engineers and city inspectors, and ensure safety, code compliance, and on-time delivery across multiple communities. This role requires extensive experience in residential construction, strong financial acumen, and the ability to drive standard processes while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in new home construction project management.
• Experience supervising multiple communities and building types.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of homebuilding construction to meet quality, schedule, and budget.
• Plan construction schedule and community build-out strategy.
• Monitor costs and track expenditures against estimates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to ensure compliance.
• Conduct QA inspections and resolve construction issues.
