Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Catering Sales for the Aramark operation at the Richmond Convention Center, Richmond VA.

This is a management position responsible for developing and executing catering solutions to meet customer needs and facilitating the delivery of prepared food created from an event-specific work order or in a room service environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain corporate and social catering accounts to meet or exceed revenue goals.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, respond to inquiries, develop proposals and contracts, and identify upselling opportunities.
• Work with event planners to manage the entire event experience and generate new catering business through outside calls.
• Support large recurring events and one-time opportunities.
• Demonstrate good communication and project management skills.
• Meet deadlines, work under pressure, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Show leadership qualities and be comfortable making decisions and negotiating.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 5+ years in the hospitality industry, with catering or banquets experience preferred.
• Experience in a major convention hotel or large social market preferred.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills.
• Effective communication with diverse clients and staff.
• Understanding of the sales process, menu planning, and food presentation.
• Skilled in banquet and event service operations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks proactively, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
