Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team, guiding cross-functional efforts with Engineering and IT to drive continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization. The role supports capital planning and ensures alignment with company initiatives while delivering strong operational support to production facilities.

The candidate will lead cross-functional collaboration, promote safety, and drive technology advancements across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Automation & Controls team across multiple facilities.
• Contribute to 3- and 5-year capital plans at manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, and R&D to integrate automation initiatives.
• Manage capitalized projects and budget for the team.
