Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team, partnering with engineering to drive continuous innovation and production efficiency. You will provide strategic input to capital planning and ensure cross-functional alignment with manufacturing initiatives, while delivering ongoing support to facilities.

You will lead a team, manage budgets, and promote safety and integrity in projects, tools, and processes across multiple locations in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Proven experience leading a team directly or indirectly.
• Proven ability to build relationships and partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans for facilities.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering and R&D.
• Oversee capital projects, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Align machine standards with customers, vendors and engineers.
• Ensure documentation for controls systems is current and complete.
• Lead and develop team, promote safety and education.
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
