Capital One seeks a Director of AI Engineering (Remote Eligible) to lead the platform that trains, fine-tunes, and deploys large-scale AI systems. You’ll oversee distributed training, fault tolerance, and cost-efficient GPU utilization while guiding cross-functional teams of engineers and researchers.

You will shape the technical vision, drive hiring and career development, and ensure responsible AI practices across projects in a flexible remote setting.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE with 8+ years of AI/ML experience.
• Master's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE with 6+ years of AI/ML experience.
• At least 3 years of people leadership experience.

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee design, deployment, and operation of core systems for distributed training.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Invent techniques to improve scalability, cost, throughput and reliability.
