Capital One is seeking a Director of AI Engineering (Remote Eligible) to lead the Generative AI Training platform. You will oversee distributed training, RL workflows, and GPU scheduling, shaping scalable AI infrastructure used across the company.

You will partner with engineers, scientists, PMs and compliance to deliver safe, high-performance AI capabilities, driving governance, mentorship, and a strong culture of experimentation. Remote eligible, with leadership responsibilities.

Formación

• Minimum 8 years AI/ML algorithm development with at least 3 years of people leadership.
• Experience leading an engineering team (5+ years preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of core systems.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Invent techniques to improve scalability, cost, throughput, and reliability.
• Own GPU capacity planning and cost governance for training workloads.
• Contribute to the long-term AI platform roadmap.
• Mentor and develop team members; foster a culture of learning.
