Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a technical area and drive impact across teams, technologies, and projects within Card & Connected Commerce Technology. You will set strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product architects to deliver scalable solutions, while ensuring governance and security across the enterprise.

You will lead cross-functional delivery, align with product and architecture, and steward engineering practices, standards, and risk

Qualifications

Formal training in software engineering with 10+ years of applied experience.
Deep experience in authorization, identity protocols, distributed systems security, or secure service architecture.
Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, token security, workload identity, least privilege, and policy enforcement.
Experience engineering delegated-access, service-to-service, tool-integration, or AI-agent systems.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction and engineering roadmap for identity, authorization, and cross-protocol security.
Lead contributions to industry standards organizations, translating Chase requirements into proposals and guidance.
Contribute to reference architecture and implementation initiatives for identity, authentication, and authorization approaches.
Develop reference architectures and implementations for agent identity, delegated authority, mandates, policy decisions, and evidence.
