Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Director of Software Engineering in the Card Authorizations team in New York. You will lead a technical area, drive complex initiatives, and act as a primary decision maker for teams, shaping delivery, governance, and strategic direction across departments.

You will mentor engineers, foster responsible AI use, implement SDLC automation, and collaborate with product and technology leaders to deliver scalable, secure solutions that improve speed, quality, and incident

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items.
Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use and governance in engineering workflows.
Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
Accountable for decisions influencing resources, budget, and execution of processes.
Sets direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation.
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain.
Carries governance accountability for coding decisions and portfolio operations.
Delivers technical solutions leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
