Job summary

Agios Pharmaceuticals is seeking a strategic Director, National Accounts, Market Access to lead payer relationships and drive access for our portfolio in the U.S. field environment.

You will partner with field sales, marketing, finance, and legal to align formulary strategies and reimbursement initiatives. You will guide cross-functional teams, build business cases for contracting, and navigate regulations governing commercial and government payers, while extending our commitment to patient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of biotech/pharma sales experience, with at least 5 years in hematology/rare/genetically defined diseases.
• 5 years of managed market experience with payers.
• Strong understanding of regulations governing commercial and government payers.
• 5 years of management experience with Specialty Pharmacies.
• Experience with products managed through the pharmacy benefit.

Responsibilities

• Lead relationships with assigned Commercial payers.
• Manage relationship with Specialty Pharmacy for products.
• Collaborate with Specialty Pharmacy and Patient Services for access.
• Implement initiatives for optimal coverage and reimbursement.
• Build payer profiles and formulary review strategies.
• Prepare business cases for contracting and ROI; lead negotiations.
• Communicate payer utilization guidelines internally.
• Maintain rapport with payers for long-term opportunities.
• Monitor market developments and report opportunities/threats.
• Represent Agios at key industry conferences.
