Qualifications

  • Ten years of qualified experience.
  • Experience in two or more major areas such as construction projects, project management, portfolio management, commissioning, project controls, contracts.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, with potential for longer stays.
  • May be required to live at the project location during execution.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory filings and approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall project execution and oversee project management functions
  • Implement and oversee project safety programs to achieve Zero Harm
  • Report project strategy, team needs, and solutions to executive leadership
  • Establish commercial contracting strategy and negotiate contractor, EPC, and engineering agreements
  • Lead executive governance with joint venture partners
  • Drive integrated schedules across workstreams and align resource management
  • Oversee program budgets, contingencies, forecasts, and capital plans
  • Identify and mitigate executive project risks
  • Lead change management and resolve disputes
  • Build, mentor, and develop a cohesive project leadership team
  • Manage relationships with utilities, RTOs, regulators, landowners, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory filings and approvals
  • Manage staffing, staff augmentation, consultants, and vendors
  • Manage construction and deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within approved investment
  • Report project safety, capital investment, schedule, and performance metrics
  • Support project financing and develop multi-year risk-adjusted capital plans
  • Foster team culture and administer performance management processes
  • Guide contracts, contractors, operating agreements, and compliance documentation
  • Perform continuous improvement and maintain project policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field of study
  • Ten (10) years of qualified experience
  • Experience in two or more of: major construction projects, project management, portfolio management, commissioning, project controls, commercial nuclear power plant, fossil generation, and contract negotiations
  • Progressive levels of responsibility and accomplishment
  • Highly proficient business acumen
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills
  • PMP certification required
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to work hours and travel as required; travel typically 50% or less, with greater travel possible
  • May be required to live at the project location during project execution
  • Ability to safely perform light physical duties, including construction site walkdowns on unstable surfaces and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work at offices, power plants, and construction sites, including possible radiation exposure within NRC limits at nuclear power sites
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports and present to senior management
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related field
  • Preferred experience with direct supervision, executive communication, contracting/commercial strategy, RTOs, state utility commissions, environmental applications, and USACE, USFWS, and NEPA
