Job description

PROJECT MANAGER Deployable Energy Position Summary Experienced project leader responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving execution of complex nuclear engineering projects and programs. Leads cross-functional teams, manages scope, schedule, risk, interfaces, and stakeholder alignment, and ensures disciplined project delivery within a highly regulated environment. At the current development stage, the role is focused on coordinating engineering development, testing, technical deliverables, supplier activities, project controls, and readiness for future execution as the organization scales.

Functional Scope
  • Technical Project Execution - Lead and coordinate execution of complex engineering projects and programs, ensuring deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives, technical requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  • P6 Scheduling & Project Controls - Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project-management tools. Track progress, milestones, critical paths, resource requirements, and performance metrics to support effective project execution.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination - Facilitate collaboration across engineering, licensing/regulatory, quality, procurement, manufacturing, testing, operations-readiness, and other stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Scope & Schedule Management - Establish, maintain, and control project scope, schedules, priorities, milestones, assumptions, dependencies, and resource plans while managing change and stakeholder alignment.
  • Risk & Issue Management - Identify, assess, communicate, and mitigate project risks, issues, constraints, and opportunities. Drive timely resolution of project challenges while supporting risk-informed decision-making.
  • Engineering Interface Management - Coordinate project activities across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring effective communication, integration, and management of technical interfaces, requirements, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Change & Configuration Coordination - Support project change-management and configuration-control processes so modifications are evaluated, documented, approved, communicated, and implemented in a controlled manner.
  • Supplier & Partner Coordination - Manage interactions with suppliers, contractors, consultants, laboratories, strategic partners, and external stakeholders supporting technical delivery, testing, procurement, and project objectives.
  • Project Governance & Reporting - Prepare and deliver project status reports, dashboards, presentations, action logs, performance metrics, forecasts, and executive-level communications to support project oversight and decision-making.
  • EPC/EPCM Readiness - Apply relevant EPC/EPCM project-delivery discipline where useful to current engineering development and future scale-up, without treating the organization as a mature construction-stage program.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and execution across multidisciplinary engineering and business functions.
  • Define and manage project scope, schedule, milestones, resources, risks, dependencies, and change control.
  • Coordinate technical and non-technical stakeholders to maintain alignment and timely decision-making.
  • Lead project reviews, status reporting, action tracking, and escalation of critical issues.
  • Partner with engineering leadership, systems engineering, quality, testing, supply chain, licensing/regulatory, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Support supplier, partner, laboratory, customer, and external stakeholder engagement as required.
  • Promote disciplined project governance, safety culture, quality, and risk-informed execution.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant project-management or technical project-delivery experience.
  • Significant experience managing technically complex projects in nuclear or another highly regulated, safety-critical, or engineering-intensive industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing scope, schedule, risk, interfaces, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Strong executive communication, problem-solving, organizational judgment, and project-governance capability.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a growing organization where processes, priorities, and capabilities are still being developed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in nuclear energy, power generation, aerospace, defense, EPC/EPCM organizations, advanced technology, or another safety-critical environment.
  • Experience with formal project controls, change management, configuration management, quality systems, or stage-gate project-governance processes.
  • Experience supporting first-of-a-kind (FOAK) programs, complex engineering development, major capital projects, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing, supplier, and project-control activities within technically complex programs.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with engineering, procurement, project controls, suppliers, contractors, laboratories, and organizational stakeholders to support project execution and delivery.
  • Familiarity with EPC/EPCM delivery models and how engineering-development programs transition toward fabrication, construction, commissioning, or deployment.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent project-management credential preferred.
Core Competencies
