Job summary

Helix Electric in San Diego, CA, seeks a Director of Leadership Development who can diagnose capability gaps, craft scalable leadership frameworks, and translate business priorities into practical programs for frontline to executive leaders. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in OD/LD, strong instructional design, and experience in construction or project-based environments.

The role reports to the Head of Learning & Organizational Development, travels as needed, and leads enterprise initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in leadership development or related field.
• Experience designing and building leadership content and assessing program effectiveness.
• Experience facilitating leadership programs across levels from frontline to executive.
• Strong knowledge of leadership models and assessment tools; certifications preferred.
• Construction/real-world project environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute enterprise leadership development strategy aligned to business goals.
• Translate business needs into learning objectives, competencies, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop programs for multiple leader populations (emerging, managers, project leaders, execs).
• Create original learning content and materials (facilitator guides, workbooks, toolkits).
• Facilitate leadership training sessions with executive presence and learner engagement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to reflect operating environment and performance expectations.
• Build pathways for readiness, mobility, succession, and bench strength.
• Manage external partners and content providers for quality and consistency.
• Advise leaders on capability building and learning strategy.
• Monitor emerging practices and apply where value-added.
• Travel to regional offices, jobsites, meetings, and training events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
