Job summary

DePuy Synthes seeks a Director, IT Financial Management to define and lead the strategy, governance and operating practices across the technology portfolio. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, capital and operating expense governance, and advisory support to CIO and senior leaders.

You will oversee vendor financial management, contract economics, and cost-optimization initiatives, partnering with Finance, Legal, Procurement and IT owners to deliver value realization and transparent reporting.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT financial management, corporate finance, or technology portfolio leadership.
• Led enterprise budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, governance and reporting.
• Managed financials of a large technology‑vendor portfolio, including renewals and cost optimization.
• Strong understanding of IT cost structures, capex/opex, licensing and cloud economics.
• Partnered with Procurement, Finance, Legal and IT leaders on sourcing and vendor reviews.
• Able to advise senior executives, challenge assumptions, and drive cross‑functional decisions.
• Experience establishing governance, controls, metrics, and accountability across portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise IT financial management strategy, operating model, governance, and multi-year capability roadmap.
• Own annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, long-range planning, capex/opex governance, variance management and reporting.
• Advise CIO and senior tech leadership on investment allocation, affordability and risk.
• Establish decision rights, controls, management-review forums and reporting standards.
• Lead vendor financial management across IT suppliers, including spend plans, forecasts, renewals and cost optimization.
• Partner with Procurement, Finance, Legal and IT service owners to evaluate proposals and contracts.
• Establish vendor financial scorecards and executive reviews for visibility into spend and risk.
• Drive cost optimization through spend analysis, licensing optimization, demand management and transparency.
• Lead financial evaluation of technology investments, business cases and post‑investment value realization.
• Develop allocation, chargeback/showback methodologies linking costs to products and services.
• Track TSA costs, monitor synergy targets, and report on separation-related financial performance.
• Define dashboards, performance measures and forward-looking insights; drive action with tech leaders.
• Build and lead a high-performing IT financial management organization with talent development.
