Job summary

HeartlandHealth is seeking a Director of Risk and Compliance to lead the organization's risk management and compliance program. You will partner with executive leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting patient safety, privacy, and operations, while fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business admin, nursing, risk management, or related field.
• Healthcare risk management, compliance, or patient safety certification preferred.
• 5–7 years in healthcare risk management and at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of HRSA, HIPAA, FTCA, CMS, OSHA and related requirements.
• Understanding of enterprise risk management, CAPA, and incident analysis.
• Experience with incident reporting, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify, assess, prioritize, mitigate, monitor, and report risks across the organization.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, and collaborations with clinical leaders on patient safety.
• Report to executive leadership and Board regarding significant risks and trends.
• Oversee HIPAA privacy, FTCA processes, and health information governance.
• Establish and monitor corrective actions and incident response plans.
