Job summary

Iridium Communications Inc is seeking a Deputy Director of Network Infrastructure and Ground Entry Points to lead organizational execution across SDA programs. You will direct engineers across network and GEP workstreams, drive architecture decisions, and remove barriers to timely delivery.

The role requires active Top Secret/SCI clearance and strong leadership, coordination across teams, and a focus on scalable, secure ground systems and network architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management, information systems, computer science, engineering or related field; or equivalent, relevant experience
• 15+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably in a Government operations environment
• Understanding of networking, security, storage, compute, hybrid-cloud services, and virtualized environments
• Deep understanding of Ground Entry Point concepts, systems, and interconnectivity between remote sites and operations centers
• Excellent communication skills to present information and drive discussions across all employee groups
• People-oriented mentality with ability to motivate and build cross-functional teams
• Ability to drive discussions, gain support for key ideas, and tailor communication to diverse audiences
• Creativity, resourcefulness, and decisiveness to manage risks and critical situations
• Strong sense of urgency to drive projects to completion and achieve results
• Excellent prioritization skills to coordinate multiple groups

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, execution, and technical leadership across Network Infrastructure and GEP activities
• Direct a team of subject matter experts, architects, and engineers to ensure quality and successful program delivery
• Oversee network and GEP architecture, design, integration, deployment, and operations with enterprise-aligned approaches
• Coordinate priorities, resources, schedules, and dependencies across SDA programs and remove barriers
• Guide trade studies and support recommendations balancing mission, schedule, cost, risk, and scalability
• Ensure standards, guidelines, and processes are consistently applied across Network Infrastructure and GEP
• Support integration of new capabilities into existing and new SDA programs through planning and requirements refinement
• Serve as a senior escalation point for cross-functional issues and improve processes
• Collaborate with program management, engineering, finance, and technical leadership for planning and decision-making
• Support Director in setting priorities and monitoring performance of Network Infrastructure and GEP
