Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Site Engineer III to independently manage site installation, maintenance, and integration for global GEP infrastructure. You will coordinate vendors, drive maintenance programs, and troubleshoot sophisticated telecom/satellite systems while ensuring safety and compliance.

A Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required; travel up to 50% is expected. The role demands 5+ years of relevant telecom experience, a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent, and strong

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in telecommunications or satellite communications.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and analytical thinking required.
• Proactive, ownership-driven approach with ability to manage priorities.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work across locations.
• Active or ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site maintenance, installation, and upgrades to ensure operational readiness.
• Oversee vendors and contractors at GEP sites, ensuring standards and quality.
• Promote safety, monitor site conditions, and escalate risks as needed.
• Lead preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and validation activities.
• Troubleshoot site equipment, antennas, UPS, generators, and related hardware.
• Provide guidance to vendors and junior team members during activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and program teams for site readiness and integration.
• Analyze performance trends to identify reliability improvements and corrective actions.
• Support testing and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
• Adapt to evolving mission requirements and pursue process improvements.
