Job summary

Iridium Satellite LLC is seeking a Site Engineer III to lead site installation, maintenance, and coordination with vendors for the SDA project. The role requires a Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain one; travel up to 50% and locations across the US and abroad are possible.

You will drive safety, oversee upgrades, analyze performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness of Ground Entry Point infrastructure and mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in telecommunications or satellite communications.
• Strong communication skills.
• Analytical mindset for problem solving.
• Willing to travel up to 50% when needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and coordinate site maintenance, installation, and upgrades.
• Coordinate work by vendors and contractors at GEP sites to standards.
• Promote safety and escalate risks as appropriate.
• Execute preventative maintenance activities and verify performance.
• Lead troubleshooting for equipment, infrastructure, UPS, generators, and hardware.
• Provide guidance to vendors and teammates during activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for site readiness and integration.
• Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Support testing, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
• Adapt to evolving mission requirements and drive process improvements.
