Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management for Cell and Gene Therapy to lead the global commercial supply chain planning, strategy and operations for the Type 1 Diabetes program. The role coordinates long-term capacity builds across the CDMO network, conducts supply risk assessments, and ensures end-to-end supply chain readiness for commercialization.

The Director will establish internal compliance and business processes, build the processes, systems and people for launch readiness,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline.
Typically requires 10 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to plan and optimize resources (budgets, staff, technology).
Knowledge of cGMP, GCP, GDP, import/export and Part 11; ERP/MRP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with complex judgement.
Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
Experience coordinating global supply chain networks across CDMO and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Lead overall supply chain strategy and operations for the Type 1 Diabetes program.
Implement Global S&OP process.
Lead long-term capacity build across CDMO network.
Define and deliver on supply chain program goals.
End-to-end process mapping and delivery to patients.
Implement governance for commercial supply chain including CDMO and internal manufacturing.
