Job summary

MODE Transportation, LLC is seeking a Director of Pricing to establish a centralized pricing capability for its freight brokerage business. This leader will own pricing strategy and execution across spot, API, email, and agent opportunities, driving profitability as volume grows.

The role requires a commercial, data-driven operator who can quote freight, make quick decisions, and scale a repeatable pricing discipline while collaborating with dispatch and sales teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years pricing experience in truckload freight brokerage or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Proven success pricing spot freight and supporting RFPs/RFQs.
• Strong knowledge of freight markets, lane economics, carrier cost drivers, seasonality, buying behavior, and margins.
• Ability to analyze large opportunity sets and translate findings into pricing decisions.
• Experience with TMS, pricing platforms, APIs, email quote workflows, or market intelligence tools.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to make time-sensitive decisions.
• Clear written and verbal communication of pricing recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own daily pricing and bid execution for centralized spot opportunities.
• Develop lane-level pricing strategies using market conditions and margin targets.
• Lead the use of API/portal-based bidding and email quote workflows.
• Price and bid opportunities in collaboration with agents while preserving relationships.
• Support RFPs/RFQs and dedicated transportation opportunities with advanced pricing.
