Presto Phoenix, Inc. is seeking a Director of Hardware & Deployment Operations to lead our Dallas-based deployment team on-site and drive nationwide rollout of Presto's Voice AI systems.

You will directly manage the Hardware & Deployment Operations team, own the schedule, install vendor relationships, hardware procurement, install troubleshooting, and budgeting for the group. Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on hardware operations, deployment, installation, or field engineering experience.
• Experience managing a team of direct reports for results, not just projects.
• Experience owning hardware programs in a fast-moving startup.
• Proven ability to manage vendors and ensure SLA adherence.
• Experience with scheduling, project coordination, and budget tracking.
• Strong technical troubleshooting across hardware, networking, and field techs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to lead structured meetings.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Zoho or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Dallas-based Deployment Operations team and own the schedule, vendor relationships, hardware procurement, install troubleshooting, and budgeting.
• Build structure (schedules, trackers, meeting rhythms, escalation paths) to enable end-to-end ownership by the team.
• Directly manage performance, drive accountability, and surface issues with clear judgments.
• Run structured reviews and own the agenda for syncs; ensure timely updates and visibility.
• Escalate proactively with real-time concerns and maintain program visibility with live dashboards.
• Vet and approve field technicians and oversee master install schedules across technicians.
• Oversee current hardware procurement end-to-end, including vendor sourcing and budget tracking.
• Manage in-house assembly, kitting, QC workflows, and RMA pipeline; plan transitions to outsourcing partners.
