Job summary

Consumer Cellular seeks a Director of Enterprise Security to transform security from gatekeeper into a product-delivery partner. You will protect employees, customers and data, drive regulatory compliance, and reduce risk while moving to an AI-first, cloud-native tech stack.

You will build a lean senior team across Security Operations, GRC, DevSecOps and AI Security, with automation and clear KPIs, reporting to executives. Hybrid or onsite near Scottsdale, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity, including 5+ years leading security managers and teams.
• A track record of moving a security organization from gatekeeping to embedded, DevSecOps-style delivery.
• Strong SOC and incident response background, including managing MDR/MSSP providers, SIEM/SOAR, and security automation or AI-driven operations.
• Deep knowledge of identity and privileged access (Entra ID/AD, PAM, IGA).
• GRC experience with PCI DSS, NIST CSF and CIS. Experience with telecom regulation (CPNI, FCC) is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of cloud security, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Data-driven: defines and reports KPIs such as MTTD, MTTR, remediation SLA and compliance posture.
• Excellent communicator who can explain technical risk to executives and teams.
• CISSP, CISM or CCSP.
• Experience in telecom, MVNO or consumer subscription businesses, or other regulated consumer-data environments.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute enterprise security strategy with secure-by-design practices.
• Rethink security work; use automation and managed services to reduce manual work.
• Build and lead a lean, senior team with clear KPIs and SLAs.
• Own the security budget, forecasts and vendor portfolio including MDR/MSSP partners.
• Report security posture, risk and results to executives and the board in business terms.
• Lead the move to an automation-first, AI-assisted SOC and data-driven telemetry.
• Evaluate and manage MDR/MSSP partners using evidence-based scorecards.
• Direct incident response, forensics and major incidents with Tech Ops.
• Run threat intelligence and vulnerability management; ensure remediation SLAs.
• Oversee email, endpoint security and encryption services.
• Lead identity-first access, privileged access modernization and onboarding workflows.
• Own governance, risk, and compliance including PCI DSS and telecom obligations.
• Develop DevSecOps and AppSec capabilities; secure CI/CD and IaC practices.
• Support AI governance with agent identity, auditing and approvals.
