Job summary

Surescripts is seeking a Director Enterprise Data Platform to lead the medallion data lake initiative and drive end-to-end data reliability across the platform. You will guide a data engineering team, set technical direction, and own data quality and governance as part of a strategic data foundation.

This leadership role focuses on building scalable pipelines on Google Cloud, defining contracts with source owners, and collaborating with Architecture and Analytics teams to deliver trusted data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, cloud engineering, data infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering roles.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams responsible for large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Strong experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the medallion data lake. Own Raw, Silver, and Gold layers on Google BigQuery, with defined data ingestion, conformance, cleansing and accessibility.
• Hands-On with a high-performing data engineering team; foster data quality, test coverage, and documentation.
• Own source system onboarding; enforce data contracts and scalable ingestion pipelines.
• Define and meet data SLAs; build observability and alerting to prevent impact on consumers.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Semantic Intelligence to align with canonical data models.
