Job summary

Surescripts seeks a Director DataTrust and Enablement to lead governance within our Enterprise Data Platform. The role stewards data policy, catalog, quality standards, and compliance, enabling teams to build trustworthy data products by design.

Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Data Platform, you will direct the data catalog, business glossary, certification programs, and critical data elements, collaborating across Architecture, Data Product Delivery, and Platform Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in data governance or data management, with 3+ years leading governance at enterprise level
• Philosophy of governance as enablement; builds programs that increase velocity and data trust
• Hands-on experience with Collibra or similar data catalog including stewardship workflows, glossary, lineage, policy
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and practical operating models
• Experience defining and managing critical data element programs with business ownership and certification workflows
• Strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data compliance; regulated industry experience preferred
• Ability to translate between technical and business audiences
• Experience building and leading governance teams and stewards

Responsibilities

• Redefine governance as platform capability and make it easy for teams to engage
• Own data catalog and business glossary; ensure data assets are trusted and discoverable
• Define and manage data certification programs with meaningful workflows
• Lead the Critical Data Element program and ensure ownership and certification
• Own data policy and compliance; navigate regulatory requirements
• Build and lead a stewardship community across domains
• Collaborate with Architecture and Semantic Intelligence to align glossary and data quality
• Represent governance in stakeholder reporting with metrics tied to business outcomes
• Contribute to platform strategy as a senior leader in the data platform
