Job summary

Surescripts seeks a Director of Enterprise Data Platform to lead the medallion data lake initiative and the end-to-end data pipeline infrastructure. You will guide a team of data engineers, define standards for ingestion, conformance, cleansing, and delivery of data to internal and external consumers, and partner with architecture and semantic intelligence to ensure scalable, reliable data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 10+ years of progressive data engineering/ cloud engineering experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience
• Strong experience with cloud-native platforms (Google Cloud)
• Proven experience with medallion/multi-layer data lake architectures
• Deep expertise in modern engineering practices (IaC, CI/CD, observability)
• Strong SQL-based transformation and workflow orchestration
• Experience defining data contracts, SLAs, and data security controls

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the medallion data lake (Raw, Bronze, Silver, Gold) on Google BigQuery
• Lead a high-performing data engineering team and ensure data quality, documentation, and reliability
• Onboard new source systems and enforce data contracts
• Define and meet data SLAs and build observability/infrastructure for monitoring
• Collaborate with Architecture and Semantic Intelligence to align on canonical data models
• Drive cost efficiency in BigQuery compute/storage and optimize platform economics
• Contribute to platform strategy and roadmap with senior leadership

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related technical field
