Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a Director, Code Compliance for Facilities (Electrical) in downtown Manhattan to lead code compliance for the Division of Facilities. You will review and approve design drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.

You will act as the lead technical authority on DOS facilities capital projects and coordination with city/state agencies, preparing guidelines and materials, and responding to emergencies 24/7

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Engineering or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience, of which four (4) years must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity -or- a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
• Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (preferred).
• NYS Building Code Enforcement Certification (preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Applications (preferred).
• Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead Code Compliance for the Division of Facilities and review and approve all design drawings to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and City Codes/regulations, standards, System Safety Regulations and policy Instructions.
• Lead technical authority on all DOS facilities capital projects & compliance.
• Prepare guidelines and reference materials for DOS employees and interact with senior managers in various departments and Construction & Development as well as City and State agencies.
• Represent the Senior Director on Code Compliance and facilities capital projects as needed.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies and other critical occurrences 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
