Job summary

NYC Department of Design and Construction invites applications for the Construction Project Manager - 34202. This full-time position focuses on assessing City-owned facilities for condition, code compliance, sustainability, and resiliency.

Responsibilities include ADA survey coordination, documenting conditions, analyzing codes and local laws, and producing facility assessment reports to inform sponsor agency budgeting.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing/inspecting construction projects costing at least $300,000 annually.
• One year of experience plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related field.
• One year of experience plus a valid PE/RA/LA license issued by a U.S. board.
• Alternative: combination of education and experience totaling five years as described.

Responsibilities

• Conduct condition assessments of City-owned buildings.
• Assess exterior and interior components and overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency.
• Outline immediate and potential problems and set priorities for budget planning.
• Coordinate and advise on ADA surveys being performed simultaneously.
• Record existing conditions; provide code and local laws analysis and prepare facility assessment reports.
