Job summary

CenterWell is seeking a Director of Data Science (AI/ML) to lead a technical team responsible for model development across CenterWell's portfolio. You will partner with AI Product Management, IT, and clinical operations to translate priorities into validated AI solutions that improve patient care and efficiency.

You will maintain hands-on expertise, promote rapid experimentation, and drive production-ready models with enterprise monitoring.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data science experience with production ML models.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Experience partnering with product, engineering to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with MLOps: versioning, experiment tracking, monitoring.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI model development and validation for business applications (predictive modeling, NLP).
• Maintain deep AI/ML technical expertise and apply appropriate methods in healthcare contexts.
• Promote rapid prototyping to validate feasibility before full development.
• Balance research with production discipline for operational viability and maintainability.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for the data science team.
