Job summary

The University of Virginia seeks a Computer-Based Testing Facility Director to lead the Testing Facility as it grows from a pilot to a sustainable university assessment service on Central Grounds in Charlottesville.

You will coordinate with the Provost’s Office, ITS, and participating schools to ensure secure, accessible testing and effective operations, while guiding staff and budget decisions in support of UVA's educational mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally including higher education or academic support.
• Experience with coordinating testing facilities or large-scale assessment programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Testing Facility as it evolves from a pilot to a sustainable service.
• Coordinate with Provost’s Office, ITS, and schools to ensure alignment and accountability.
• Oversee scheduling, space management, and exam operations across multiple facility locations.
• Lead staffing, training, and proctoring operations; manage payroll and actions in Workday.
• Develop SOPs for security, accessibility, and testing accommodations.
• Engage with faculty advisory groups and other stakeholders to expand services.
